Grand Rapids, Mich. — Each year, the Trinity Health Grand Rapids NICU welcomes about 200 to 300 newborns as they begin their journeys. These resilient infants show remarkable strength, and every milestone is a cause for celebration.
One of the highlights for staff is Halloween, when they have the opportunity to dress the babies in their very first costumes.
The costumes are crafted from lightweight felt and tailored to meet each baby’s unique needs, accommodating their incubators and medical devices. “We have successfully cared for babies born as early as 22 weeks gestation, some weighing only 11 ounces,” representatives from Trinity Health shared with FOX 17.
