Gisele Bündchen is pregnant! The 44-year-old model is expecting her first child with boyfriend Joaquim Valente, 37. A source close to Bündchen confirmed this news to PEOPLE on Monday, October 28.
“Gisele and Joaquim are excited about this new chapter in their lives. They look forward to creating a peaceful and loving environment for their family,” the source stated.
Bündchen has been in a relationship with Jiu-Jitsu instructor Joaquim Valente since June 2023. Their upcoming baby will join Bündchen’s two children: 14-year-old son Benjamin Rein and 11-year-old daughter Vivian Lake, whom she shares with ex-husband Tom Brady.
Despite being a former Victoria’s Secret Angel from 1999 to 2006, Bündchen did not attend the 2024 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show on October 15, where many past Angels made appearances.
The couple was first seen together in November 2022 while visiting Provincia de Puntarenas, a coastal province in Costa Rica, with Bündchen’s children. Initially, Bündchen denied any romantic involvement with Valente, but their relationship developed over time. In February 2024, a source confirmed to PEOPLE that they began dating in June 2023.
In June 2024, another source shared that Bündchen has “blossomed” since her split from Brady. “She feels secure and happy. She is busy with her life and doesn’t dwell on negativity,” the source said. Earlier in February, a different source mentioned, “They started out as great friends and are taking it slow. She is very private and wanted to keep it quiet while they got to know each other.”
Bündchen and Brady divorced in October 2022 after 13 years of marriage. They agreed to joint custody of their children. Brady, 47, also has a son, John “Jack” Edward Thomas, 17, with ex-girlfriend and actress Bridget Moynahan.
