Violet Grohl, daughter of musician Dave Grohl, has posted on Instagram for the first time since her father admitted to being unfaithful in his marriage.
On October 23, Violet shared a carousel of photos, her first post since September 5. She had taken a break from social media after Dave disclosed that he cheated on his wife, Jordyn Blum, and welcomed a baby daughter outside of their marriage. Together, Dave and Jordyn have two other daughters, Harper, 15, and Ophelia, 10.
In her latest Instagram post, the 18-year-old singer included four images, one showing a building lit up at night, another from a concert, and a selfie where she wore a black bra, silver necklaces, and dark red lipstick, styled with her hair in an updo. Her caption was brief, featuring just a smiley face.
Additionally, Violet posted a selfie on her Instagram Stories that day, featuring the song “Silent Hedges” by Bauhaus.
It appears that Violet deactivated her Instagram account in September following her father’s announcement, although the exact date of the deactivation is unclear. In a statement made on September 10, Dave Grohl did not share details about the baby’s mother but emphasized his commitment to being a loving parent. He expressed hope of mending his relationship with Jordyn and their daughters.
“I love my wife and my children, and I am doing everything I can to regain their trust and earn their forgiveness,” he wrote. “We’re grateful for your consideration toward all the children involved as we move forward together.”
Dave has often spoken about his close relationship with Violet, who is pursuing her own career in music. During the Foo Fighters’ performance at the 2023 Glastonbury Festival, Violet joined her father on stage, where he introduced her as his “favorite singer in the world.”
Dave, 48, and Jordyn have been married since August 2003. The couple met two years earlier at the Sunset Marquis Whiskey Bar in West Hollywood, where Jordyn had just begun her career as an MTV producer, moving away from modeling to chase her directing dreams. In a 2007 interview with Elle, Dave revealed that he initially stopped contacting Jordyn after a few dates, feeling unprepared for a serious relationship.
“I had a revelation and called her back. She picked up the phone and said, ‘Oh, I never thought I’d hear from you again,’” he recalled.
Following Dave’s announcement about his new baby, the Foo Fighters canceled their scheduled appearance at the Soundside Festival.
