Princess Sofia of Sweden made a stunning appearance at the recent graduation ceremony for Sophiahemmet University. The event took place at Stockholm City Hall on October 18. Since 2016, Sofia has served as the honorary chair of Sophiahemmet.
During her speech, the Princess expressed her pride in attending the ceremony. She said, “It is a pleasure to stand here today and share this momentous occasion with you. At a time when the world faces challenges, you work in fields filled with commitment, science, social benefit, and passion.” She added, “All of this creates purpose and depth in life. Your existence is crucial, especially in these challenging times.”
Reflecting on her nearly nine years in the role, Sofia praised the dedication of the university’s community. “I have been impressed by your professionalism and passionate commitment,” she noted. “Whether you are students, teachers, researchers, or employees, you play a vital role in ensuring the future competence of healthcare.”
For the occasion, Princess Sofia wore an elegant black cape dress with a front slit, pairing it with black stockings, heels, and a clutch.
At 39 years old, Sofia is expecting her fourth child with her husband, Prince Carl Philip. The Swedish Royal Court announced her pregnancy last month. “Their Royal Highnesses Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia are delighted to announce that the Princess is expecting their fourth child,” the Royal Court stated. “Princess Sofia is feeling well, and the birth is expected in February 2025.” They also confirmed that there would be no changes to her public schedule for the fall.
The couple already has three sons: Prince Alexander, 8, Prince Gabriel, 7, and Prince Julian, 3. After the birth of her third child in 2021, Sofia shared on Instagram, “Life has given me not just one but four beautiful princes.”
