Milwaukee — A 1-year-old baby fell from a second-story window on Sunday evening near Grant and Windlake streets on Milwaukee’s south side, according to local police.
Surveillance footage from a nearby store recorded the shocking incident. In the video, the baby is seen peeking out of the window, extending their arms outside, and then one leg. Moments later, the child falls onto the sidewalk below.
After the fall, the baby remained on the ground for several minutes before anyone noticed. It took over three minutes for someone to pick the child up. First responders arrived approximately 15 minutes after the fall.
The Milwaukee Fire Department reported that medics transported the baby to Children’s Wisconsin for treatment.
A WISN 12 News crew was present at the scene on Sunday night. Police officers placed cones and taped off the area to conduct an investigation.
WISN 12 News inquired about potential criminal charges and an update on the baby’s condition, but Milwaukee police had not responded by Monday night.
