A national alert has been issued following the kidnapping of a 17-day-old baby boy from a hospital in the Paris suburbs. The incident occurred last night, October 21, at the Robert Ballanger hospital in Aulnay-sous-Bois, Seine-Saint-Denis.
According to the Interior Ministry, the baby, named Santiago, was taken from the maternity ward between 11:00 PM and 11:30 PM. Santiago was born prematurely and requires constant medical care for his survival.
The baby’s parents are considered the main suspects in this case. The Interior Ministry provided descriptions of the parents: a 23-year-old man wearing dark jeans, a white T-shirt, a light blue denim jacket, and a black overcoat, and a 25-year-old woman dressed in a white jumper, a light blue sleeveless jacket, and a green skirt.
Santiago has blonde hair and was last seen wearing a brown T-shirt (suitable for babies aged six months and under) along with thick white velvet pajamas.
Authorities urge anyone who sees the parents not to intervene but to call the national alert number at 197.
