Hailie Jade Scott Reveals Baby’s Gender With Husband Evan McClintock

by Jessica

Hailie Jade Scott, the daughter of rapper Eminem, is excited to announce that she and her husband, Evan McClintock, are expecting a baby boy. The couple shared their joyful news during the October 11 episode of her podcast, “Just a Little Shady.”

“We’re so excited,” Scott, 28, said. During the podcast, the couple revealed the baby’s sex by popping a balloon filled with blue confetti. “When we found out, Evan said, ‘They’re going to hunt with me. They’re going to go golfing with me. I’ve got a little buddy,’” Scott shared. She added playfully, “I was like, ‘OK, well they’re still going to Target with me.’”

McClintock expressed that he hopes their child, regardless of gender, shares his interests. Earlier this month, Eminem, 51, revealed Hailie’s pregnancy in the music video for his song “Temporary.” The video featured nostalgic clips of Hailie growing up and memorable moments from her wedding to McClintock in May. In one touching scene, Hailie surprised Eminem with the news of her pregnancy by presenting him with a Detroit Lions jersey that read “grandpa.” Eminem appeared genuinely surprised as he held up her sonogram for the camera.

Eminem shares Hailie with his ex-wife, Kimberly Anne Scott. He is also the father of daughters Alaina, 31, and Stevie, 22. Fans of the rapper are familiar with Hailie’s presence in his music over the years. In his latest album, The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce), Eminem mentions her in the songs “Temporary” and “Somebody Save Me.”

Hailie has expressed her emotional reactions to these songs. In an August episode of her podcast, she admitted, “I watched it in its entirety, and I don’t think I can do it again. I definitely cry every time I hear it.” She specifically highlighted her tears for “Temporary,” saying, “I audibly sobbed for both songs, but especially ‘Temporary.’”

Despite the emotional content of the music, Hailie gave her parents credit for their supportive upbringing. “Watching the video back and listening to the songs, I feel like my parents did such a good job growing up where I didn’t realize how bad things were,” she said. “But now, as an adult, it’s scary to think about.”

Scott continued, “That’s why I get emotional so much, just thinking that could have happened. Obviously, that’s the point of the song, but if you’ve ever lost an addict or a loved one, I feel for you, and that’s how I feel about it.”
