Baby Massage Studio Offers ‘Rainbow’ Sessions to Fundraise for Charity

by Jessica

Daydream Baby Massage, a baby massage studio in Hull, is hosting rainbow-themed sessions for babies and toddlers to raise funds for charity. This initiative coincides with Baby Loss Awareness Week, which takes place from October 9 to 15. The award-winning business specializes in themed play sessions for toddlers and teaches parents baby massage techniques that can improve bonding, sleep, and relieve colic and wind.

The founder, Kirsty Raper, has a personal connection to the cause. She lost her three-month-old son to a heart infection in 2018, making this initiative especially meaningful for her. Proceeds from the special sessions during Baby Loss Awareness Week will benefit Chasing Rainbows, a charity that supports families affected by pregnancy and baby loss.

Kirsty explained, “We have our own little studio on Spring Bank West, called Daydream Baby. Throughout Baby Loss Awareness Week, we are doing rainbow-themed sessions for babies up to one year old.”

The sessions will include baby massage, color exploration, playful bonding activities, and photo opportunities. For toddlers, there will be soft play sessions. Kirsty emphasized that these sessions are open to all parents and caregivers, not just those who have experienced loss. “The sessions are great for bonding and creating memories with your baby in their first year,” she said.

Reflecting on her personal loss, Kirsty shared, “It’s very important for me because I lost my baby when he was three months old. Raising money and awareness for baby loss during this week is special for me.”

When Kirsty lost her son Lewin, the Chasing Rainbows charity did not exist, but she noted how it has helped many families since. The term “rainbow baby” refers to babies born after a loss, symbolizing hope and brighter days following a storm.

Kirsty recently posted a heartfelt message on the Daydream Baby Massage Facebook page, sharing a photo of her son at a previous session. She wrote, “I want to remind parents and families affected by baby loss to take care of themselves this week. It can be a challenging time for many, but it also brings comfort and awareness.”

She added, “We are excited to start our rainbow sessions for babies and toddlers this week, raising funds for Chasing Rainbows. Here’s a throwback of my rainbow baby from our first rainbow session during Baby Loss Awareness Week in 2022.”

Kirsty clarified that the rainbow sessions are open to everyone, not just those with rainbow babies. She plans to share her story with new followers this week to help them understand why Daydream Baby holds such significance for her and how she dedicates the business to her “angel in the sky.”

“Daydream has been my support system. It has given me focus, helped me express my feelings, and made me feel connected to my son,” she expressed her gratitude.
