Cardi B and Offset have welcomed their newest family member. Cardi B announced on Instagram that she gave birth to a baby girl on September 7.
Describing her daughter as “the prettiest lil thing,” Cardi shared the news with her followers, accompanied by pink flower and heart emojis. She did not reveal the baby’s name.
In the Instagram post, Cardi shared a series of photos. The first shows her holding her newborn, with Offset holding their son, Wave, and their daughter, Kulture, meeting her new sibling. Cardi also included intimate images from her labor and breastfeeding journey.
Other photos in the post show Offset bonding with their baby through skin-to-skin contact, seated next to Cardi.
Cardi B first announced her pregnancy in August, shortly after filing for divorce from Offset for the second time. A representative for Cardi stated that the separation was “a long time coming and is amicable.” In her pregnancy announcement, Cardi reflected on the new beginnings that follow an ending.
She expressed gratitude for her unborn child, saying, “You have brought me more love, more life, and renewed my power! You’ve shown me that I can have it all and that I never have to choose between life, love, and my passion.”
Cardi added, “I love you so much and can’t wait for you to see what you’ve helped me achieve. Life’s challenges are easier to face with you, your brother, and your sister by my side.”
Offset, who has three children from a previous relationship, and Cardi B began their relationship after collaborating on the song “Lick” in January 2017. By October of that year, Offset proposed publicly, and they married in 2018. They have since welcomed daughter Kulture in 2018 and son Wave in 2021.
