In Dhakoli, Zirakpur, two men forcibly entered the Community Health Centre on Saturday evening, targeting a pregnant medical officer. Dr. Prabhjot Kaur reported to the police that the men arrived at around 7 pm and broke into room number 3, where medical supplies such as injections and syringes were kept.
Dr. Kaur, who is eight months pregnant, confronted the intruders. During the confrontation, the men pushed her aside and made off with the medical supplies. Dr. Kaur expressed that the incident has left her feeling deeply traumatized and insecure at her workplace. In a letter to the Dhakoli senior medical officer, she requested the installation of full-time security, citing a rise in similar incidents.
The incident was captured by the health centre’s CCTV cameras.
DSP Jaspinder Singh Gill confirmed that a case has been filed at the Dhakoli police station. The charges include assault, criminal force to prevent a public servant from performing their duty, and theft.
