As summer comes to a close, Gypsy-Rose Blanchard, star of “Gypsy Rose: Life After Lock Up” and expectant mother, has embraced the arrival of autumn by trying a classic seasonal treat: Starbucks’ Pumpkin Spice Latte (PSL).
Blanchard, who is currently pregnant with her boyfriend Ken Urker’s child, has been sharing her new experiences since her release from prison in December. She had previously documented other firsts, such as visiting In-N-Out Burger and shopping at Sephora.
In a TikTok video posted on Sunday, August 25, the 33-year-old Blanchard revealed her reaction to tasting her first PSL. From the passenger seat of Urker’s car, she excitedly shared her anticipation. “Good morning y’all! So today, I am going to get my first Pumpkin Spice Latte at Starbucks,” she announced.
At the Starbucks drive-thru, Urker ordered a hot latte for himself and an iced version for Blanchard. After tasting her PSL, Blanchard responded with delight, saying, “Oh, that’s good!”
She then sampled Urker’s hot latte and compared the two, saying with a laugh, “I like the iced one better.” Urker chuckled in response. Blanchard noted that while the hot latte might be preferable on a colder day, the iced version suited their warm Southern Louisiana climate better.
The video ended with Blanchard thanking her followers for joining them on their Starbucks adventure. She also included a disclaimer in the caption about caffeine consumption during pregnancy.
“DISCLAIMER Women who are pregnant are allowed to consume a maximum of 200 mg of caffeine per day,” Blanchard wrote, echoing guidelines from the World Health Organization. The organization advises that pregnant women with high caffeine intake should reduce it to minimize risks such as pregnancy loss and low birth weight.
Blanchard’s PSL taste test follows her announcement of her pregnancy. On July 9, she shared on YouTube that she and Urker are expecting their first child in January 2025. “I know the rumors have been flying around for quite some time now,” she said. “I’m happy to announce that I am 11 weeks pregnant.” Blanchard described the news as unexpected but expressed excitement about the upcoming journey into parenthood.
