Pregnant Holly Kingston has addressed the backlash she’s received over her diet while vacationing in Italy with her husband, Jimmy Nicholson. The former star of The Bachelor has been sharing snapshots of her meals as she explores Rome, but not everyone has been pleased with her choices.
On Tuesday, Kingston took to Instagram Stories to respond to the criticism she’s faced. “I need to clarify something quickly due to the overwhelming number of messages I’m receiving. PLEASE DON’T TELL ME WHAT I SHOULD OR SHOULDN’T EAT—I’ve got this covered,” she wrote.
She added, “I have a fantastic OB providing me with advice and a great tool called Google. Your messages aren’t necessary and only add to the stress.”
Kingston, 30, expressed her frustration with unsolicited advice, saying, “If you’ve been pregnant and faced unwanted advice, you know how stressful and uncomfortable it can be. Imagine receiving thousands of messages from people you don’t know, suggesting you’re failing. It’s not enjoyable.”
She concluded her message by stating, “Even if these DMs are well-meaning, receiving hundreds a day makes it a dark experience for me. Now, I’m going to enjoy some beef carpaccio and a big jug of unpasteurized milk!”
Kingston, who is expecting her first child with Nicholson, 31, had a health scare in July when she was hospitalized due to pregnancy complications. Despite the concerns, she reassured fans that her baby was “healthy.”
In an earlier Instagram Story, Kingston shared a video of herself in a hospital bed, noting, “The past few days have been a whirlwind and quite difficult. First and foremost, the baby is healthy and thriving.”
She added, “These complications reminded me how challenging pregnancy can be on the body.” Kingston also praised Nicholson for his support during this time, describing him as a “pro” in handling stressful situations.
The couple, who met on the 2021 season of The Bachelor Australia, married in August 2023 at his parents’ home in Sydney.
