Ben Higgins, known from The Bachelor, and his wife Jessica Clarke are excited to announce they are expecting their first baby. The couple, who live in Colorado, shared the joyful news on social media on August 18. They also revealed that they are expecting a baby girl.
Jessica, 29, posted the announcement on Instagram, writing, “The next chapter of our love story! Baby girl coming in February.” The post included a video documenting their journey to parenthood. The footage features Jessica administering a hormone injection and an ultrasound scan from when she was 12 weeks pregnant.
The video also shows the couple celebrating with family, including their dog Waylon. It includes nostalgic clips from Ben’s proposal to Jessica and their wedding in Tennessee in 2021.
In 2022, Ben had previously shared his thoughts on starting a family. While promoting his appearance on E!’s Celebrity Beef, he mentioned, “We’re excited for kids. I believe that, God willing, we will have kids. But right now it’s not a conversation we have often and it’s not something I believe either of us are craving. You know, you hear the ‘baby fever,’ I don’t know if either of us have baby fever right now.”
Ben appeared on the 20th season of The Bachelor in 2016 after being eliminated by Kaitlyn Bristowe on The Bachelorette season 11. He later ended his relationship with winner Lauren Bushnell and competed on The Bachelor Winter Games in 2018.
Kaitlyn Bristowe, Ben’s former love interest, congratulated the couple on their Instagram post, commenting, “So happy for you guys.”
Jason Tartick, Kaitlyn’s ex, and Amanda Stanton, a former contestant on Ben’s season, also offered their congratulations. Fellow Bachelor Nation star Wells Adams commented, “I’m going to be the best uncle,” while his wife, Sarah Hyland, added, “YES YES YES YES BABY DISNEY PRINCESS!!!!!”
