The Jordanian Royal Family is celebrating the birth of Crown Prince Hussein and Princess Rajwa’s first child, a daughter named Iman.
Princess Rajwa gave birth to their first child on Saturday, August 3. The Royal Hashemite Court released an official statement: “The Royal Hashemite Court is pleased to announce that Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II and Princess Rajwa Al Hussein were blessed, on 3 August 2024, with a baby girl they named Iman.”
The statement continued: “The Royal Hashemite Court extends its sincere congratulations and best wishes to Their Royal Highnesses and to Their Majesties King Abdullah II and Queen Rania Al Abdullah on this happy occasion. Their Royal Highnesses are immensely overjoyed and thankful on welcoming their firstborn, and call on well-wishers to consider donating to Al-Aman Fund for the Future of Orphans in lieu of sending gifts or flowers.”
The new baby’s full name is Princess Iman bint Hussein. The name “Iman” means “faith” or “belief” in Arabic. The name also holds special significance for the Royal Family. Prince Hussein’s younger sister is Princess Iman bint Abdullah, and King Abdullah’s half-sister also shares the name.
Prince Hussein and his sister, Princess Iman, share a close bond. He escorted her down the aisle when she married Jameel Alexander Thermiótis in March last year.
Crown Prince Hussein and Princess Rajwa were married in a lavish ceremony in Amman, Jordan, in June 2023. The event was attended by notable figures, including Prince William, Princess Kate, and Princess Beatrice.
Princess Iman bint Hussein is the first grandchild of King Abdullah and Queen Rania of Jordan, who are undoubtedly delighted with the news.
