Health Canada warns that Cronobacter-contaminated food may not appear or smell spoiled but can still pose a health risk. In rare cases, it can lead to serious or fatal infections. The bacteria can be particularly dangerous for newborns, potentially causing severe intestinal infections and blood poisoning.
