Ryan Reynolds joked about Taylor Swift including his and Blake Lively’s children’s names in her music during an appearance on the Today show. The couple’s fourth child’s name remains undisclosed, prompting Savannah Guthrie to humorously inquire about it during the interview.
Guthrie mentioned Swift’s song “Betty,” which features the names of Reynolds and Lively’s older children, James, Ines, and Betty. When asked if their newest addition’s name is hinted at in Swift’s latest album, Reynolds playfully responded, “We always wait for Taylor to tell us what the child’s name is, and I’ll say this: We’re still waiting.”
Reynolds praised Swift’s songwriting abilities, jokingly stating, “She’s a prolific writer — I mean, what are we doing here? And ‘lazy’ is not a word I’d attach to Taylor.”
Reynolds had previously mentioned keeping their children unaware of their names in “Betty” until the track was complete, surprising them with the revelation. He humorously remarked that they prefer not to divulge too much information to their children, finding them to be more compliant that way.
While details about their fourth child remain private, Reynolds mentioned during an interview that he and Lively do not learn the sex of their children until they are born. He also hinted at their fourth child’s arrival when announcing his new series on social media.
In other news, Reynolds stars in the film “IF,” which hits theaters on May 17.
