Former “Real Housewives of Orange County” star Gretchen Rossi recently shared her experience of breastfeeding her 4-week-old daughter, Skylar Gray, as she reflected on World Breastfeeding Week. In an Instagram post, Rossi opened up about the challenges and realities of breastfeeding, despite the serene image portrayed in the snapshot.
Rossi admitted that breastfeeding has been far from the magical experience she imagined. She shared her moments of frustration, exhaustion, pain, and guilt, mentioning sore nipples that scabbed over and turned bright pink from rubbing. Despite taking numerous classes, reading books, and doing extensive research, Rossi found that breastfeeding wasn’t as easy as she had hoped.
She emphasized the pressure she felt to give her baby the best, but also acknowledged the physical and mental toll it took on her. Rossi expressed her intention to open up about her struggles in a blog post, hoping to start a conversation and offer support to other new moms facing similar challenges.
Encouraging her followers to share their stories, Rossi highlighted the importance of uplifting and supporting each other in the journey of motherhood. Since welcoming Skylar with fiancé Slade Smiley, Rossi has been candid about the various struggles and emotions that come with adjusting to life as a new parent, including anxiety over leaving her daughter for the first time for a work commitment.
