An Amber Alert was issued by the California Highway Patrol (CHP) on Sunday night for a 9-month-old boy, Leonardo Meza, who was abducted in Southern California.
The alert was sent out at 10:12 p.m., and shortly after, CHP reported that the alert was deactivated because “the subject has been located.” No additional details were provided at that time.
The Anaheim Police Department requested the alert. It identified Leonardo Meza as the missing infant, who was taken around 4:45 p.m. on April 6 from Anaheim, specifically from the area of West Crescent Avenue and North Loara Street.
The suspect, 30-year-old Robert Castillo Meza, remained at large. Authorities did not immediately confirm whether Robert was the child’s father.
Leonardo Meza is described as a Hispanic male, about one foot tall, weighing 20 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.

Authorities reported that Robert was last seen driving a tan 2003 Mercedes Benz AMG with California license plate 8HJV603.
The alert covered several counties, including Los Angeles, Riverside, San Bernardino, Imperial, and Orange. Authorities asked anyone who spotted the car, or either of the individuals, to call 911 immediately.
