Celebrity couple Mikael Daez and Megan Young are eagerly anticipating the arrival of their first child. One of the exciting tasks they’re tackling is choosing the perfect name.
In a recent Instagram video, Mikael shared that his name choices were inspired by his favorite NBA players. He revealed one of his top picks: Giannis, after NBA star Giannis Antetokounmpo, noting the athlete’s “impressive physique” as his reason. Another name he considered is Westbrook, after Russell Westbrook, citing both his fashion and basketball skills. Mikael also thought about Jordan, inspired by Filipino-American NBA player Jordan Clarkson.
Meanwhile, Megan drew inspiration from her love of K-Pop. Her first choice was Jin, after BTS’s Jin, which Mikael also liked. She also suggested the name Hoshi, after SEVENTEEN’s member.
Megan added a surprising pick, saying one of her favorite names is Mikael himself. “I’m really set on this one—Mikael Junior,” she joked. Mikael, amused, responded, “Okay, that’s it. That’s the name.”
The couple revealed in December 2024 that they are expecting their first child. Megan shared the news on social media, calling it “a new beginning for us 🤍.”
In the same month, they hosted a gender reveal party for family and friends. Before the celebration, Mikael and Megan learned the results from the doctor. In a video posted on Mikael’s Instagram, Megan guessed the baby would be a girl, while Mikael leaned toward a girl as well, although he said the odds were now 80% in favor of a girl.
The couple’s excitement grew as they gathered their loved ones at their studio for the gender reveal. Mikael shared, “We set up the studio for our fun get together and asked everyone to come in either pink or blue to see what they guessed! Good times.”
In the video, Megan popped a balloon filled with blue confetti, revealing that the couple is expecting a baby boy.
