Brittany Mahomes, wife of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, gave birth to their third child on January 12. The couple, already parents to daughter Sterling, 3, and son Patrick “Bronze,” 2, introduced their newborn daughter, Golden Raye Mahomes, on January 13 through a heartfelt Instagram post. The photo shows their hands cradling the tiny feet of their new baby girl.
The Mahomes family announced the pregnancy back in July with a joint Instagram post reading, “Round three, here we come,” signaling their excitement for their growing family. Their relationship, however, dates back more than a decade. The couple met as high school sweethearts and even attended prom together in 2014. Their bond has remained strong through college, where Brittany played soccer at the University of Texas at Tyler and Patrick led the football team at Texas Tech.
After graduation, Brittany played professionally for an Icelandic soccer club, while Patrick was drafted into the NFL in 2017. The couple married in March 2022 in Hawaii, just months after the birth of Sterling. They later became co-owners of the Kansas City Current soccer team, further solidifying their partnership both in life and business.
As they raise three children, Brittany and Patrick are also celebrated as one of the NFL’s most successful couples, with three Super Bowl rings to their names. But their journey has not been without challenges. Brittany has openly shared her struggles with postpartum hair loss and back pain caused by pelvic floor issues from previous pregnancies.
In a July Instagram story, she discussed the difficulties of her third pregnancy, noting, “This pregnancy has been the hardest on me—sickness, exhaustion, and now skin!” Despite these obstacles, Brittany has prioritized her health, explaining in an August podcast that maintaining her well-being is her top priority.
Their family of five is now complete, with Patrick confirming during a Chiefs press conference in July that three children is the couple’s ideal number. “I’m done,” he said. “I said three and I’m done.”
While their family is now set, the Mahomes continue to cherish family moments. Patrick expressed at the press conference, “Whenever I’m with my family, I want to enjoy those moments.” As for their children’s future, Patrick shared that his household is filled with “big Taylor Swift fans” but emphasized his hope that they will follow in their parents’ footsteps and play sports.
Brittany has already embraced her role as a soccer mom. She recently shared a photo of Sterling’s soccer gear on Instagram, proudly declaring, “She’s gonna be the brightest one out there, let me tell ya.”
