Carmel Eliyahu-Zinger, 36, from Kibbutz Ma’agan, is a mother of three and currently pregnant with twins as a surrogate. In addition to her family responsibilities, she is navigating the challenges of the ongoing Gaza conflict, her work as the director of rehabilitation services at Natan Medical, and her husband’s service in the IDF reserves.
Eliyahu-Zinger shared how the idea of becoming a surrogate has been with her since her teenage years. She recalled watching a film about surrogacy, which inspired her and made her believe it was a wonderful act of kindness. However, at the time, it was just a thought. When she met her husband at 17, she mentioned her interest in surrogacy before they got married, but he was initially shocked by the idea.
