Brittany Mahomes was notably absent from the sidelines during the Kansas City Chiefs’ Christmas Day game against the Pittsburgh Steelers on December 25. The reason? She’s nearly due to give birth to her third child, a baby girl, with husband Patrick Mahomes.
Patrick shared the news ahead of the game, telling sports reporter Kay Adams that Brittany is “due any day now.” He added that, according to Brittany, he’s been “stressing her out too much this season,” so he’s trying to reduce her stress levels as they approach the birth of their daughter. “Hopefully, God works the right way, and maybe we can have that baby during the bye week,” Patrick, 29, said, joking that everything would fall into place perfectly.
Rather than being at Acrisure Stadium to cheer on her husband, Brittany stayed home, enjoying some quality time with their two children, Sterling, 3, and Bronze, 2. She shared a heartwarming Instagram photo of herself baking with Sterling and cuddling with Bronze, captioning it, “Game day snuggles.” With her third trimester nearing its end, the mom of two is focused on rest and relaxation.
In August, Brittany, 29, spoke about the importance of naps during her pregnancy on the Whoop podcast. “I need naps,” she confessed. “When you’re pregnant, you’re tired.” Reflecting on her past pregnancies, she explained how her routine had changed. “With the first pregnancy, it was just me, so I could nap and sleep all day,” she said. “But with Bronze, I had to take care of a kid, so I would nap when she napped.”
Now, with two children, Brittany said she manages to rest when both kids nap. “Some days, I wake up feeling absolutely horrible,” she admitted, but she appreciates the quiet moments when she can recharge.
Despite the challenges, Brittany has plenty of support at home. Patrick, who recently led the Chiefs to a Super Bowl win, praised his wife as a “great wife with two great kids” and expressed his gratitude for her. “She’s my rock,” he said. “Having someone that supports you every single day is the reason I am in the position I am today.”
As Brittany prepares for the arrival of their third child, it’s clear she’s got a strong team behind her, both on and off the field.
