Families and caregivers with young children or expecting a baby are invited to kick off the new year by attending a community baby shower hosted by the Chatham County Health Department.
The event will take place on Tuesday, December 31, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Health Department’s Midtown Clinic, located at 1602 Drayton Street in Savannah. Open to pregnant women, parents, and caregivers of children up to age 5, the event is free to attend and does not require an RSVP.
Attendees can enjoy a variety of giveaways, including free diapers and other essential baby items, as well as raffle prizes and light refreshments. Information on topics such as safe infant sleep, breastfeeding support, nutrition, car seat safety, and more will be available. Parents can also sign up for safe sleep classes, where they will receive a free pack-n-play.
The event is sponsored by the Chatham County Health Department, the Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) Program, Babies Can’t Wait, Grow Initiative GA, Over the Moon Diaper Bank, Healthy Savannah, Coastal Children’s Advocacy Center, and Live Oak Public Libraries.
