Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai have recently been in the spotlight due to ongoing divorce rumours. However, their fans were reassured when photos of the couple together at a recent event surfaced online. This came as a relief, following speculation about their relationship.
In a 2022 appearance on Riteish Deshmukh’s chat show Case Toh Banta Hai, Abhishek Bachchan spoke about the possibility of having a second child with Aishwarya. During the episode, Riteish playfully teased Abhishek about the Bachchan family’s tradition of names starting with the letter ‘A’. He asked, “Amitabh Ji, Aishwarya, Aaradhya, and you—Abhishek—all your names begin with ‘A’. So what about Jaya aunty and Shweta? What have they done wrong?”
Abhishek laughed off the question, replying in Hindi, “You’ll have to ask them. But I think it’s become a tradition in our house—Abhishek, Aaradhya…”
Riteish then joked, “What about after Aaradhya?” To which Abhishek responded, “Not yet. We’ll see what happens with the next generation.”
Riteish continued with more playful teasing, “Who will wait that long? Like Riteish, Riaan, Rahyl (his two sons), Abhishek, Aaradhya…”
At this point, Abhishek blushed and responded, “Respect your elders, Riteish. I am older than you.” The conversation ended with Riteish jokingly touching Abhishek’s feet.
Abhishek and Aishwarya became parents to their daughter, Aaradhya Bachchan, in 2011. Recently, the couple sparked divorce rumours after they were seen arriving separately at Anant Ambani’s wedding. Further speculation arose when Abhishek was notably absent from Aishwarya’s birthday post for Aaradhya. However, it was later clarified that Abhishek had, in fact, been present for his daughter’s special day.
The couple was also spotted together at a wedding recently, and their photos have since circulated widely online, putting an end to the rumours.
Abhishek Bachchan was last seen in I Want To Talk, a film that received positive reviews but failed to make an impact at the box office. He will next be seen in Housefull 5, starring alongside Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, and other actors. Additionally, Abhishek has a role as the villain in Shah Rukh Khan’s upcoming film King and will star in Remo D’Souza’s dance film Be Happy, which is set to release on Prime Video India.
