Joss Stone and her husband, Cody DaLuz, are now parents of three after recently adopting a baby boy, named Bear. The English singer-songwriter announced the joyful news on Monday, December 2, sharing the special moment with her followers on Instagram.
Bear is the couple’s third child, joining 3-year-old Violet and 2-year-old Shackleton. Stone revealed the adoption through a video, capturing the emotional moment when the couple received the call confirming Bear’s placement in their care. The video also shows their journey to the hospital to pick up their new son.
“We are in love big time with this little guy,” Stone wrote in the caption. She also shared a heartfelt message, thanking Bear’s biological mother for making an adoption plan. “The reason why Cody even exists is because his bio mum loved him enough to make an adoption plan for him and the same goes for Bear.”
Stone expressed deep gratitude for birth mothers, acknowledging their selfless love. “Honestly, bio mothers do not get the gratitude they deserve,” she said. “It is a more selfless love than I knew existed. Truly. We are just so happy to be part of this beautiful cycle.”
In the video, Stone and DaLuz are seen wearing hospital gowns as they hold Bear for the first time. “We’re so happy you’re here,” DaLuz says, gently feeding the newborn.
Stone also thanked the nursing staff who cared for Bear while he was in the NICU and shared a touching moment of Violet meeting her new brother. “Please share your adoption stories in the comments if you have any,” she wrote. “And please welcome our gorgeous baby boy to this wonderful world xxxx.”
Joss Stone first became a mother in 2021 when she and then-boyfriend Cody DaLuz welcomed Violet through a C-section. The couple had their second child, Shackleton, in November 2022, after what Stone described as a “scary labor.” Just under a year later, in 2023, Stone and DaLuz tied the knot.
