Man Sentenced to Decades in Prison for Killing Pregnant Woman in Crash

by Jessica

MILWAUKEE — Frank Mosley, convicted of causing the death of a pregnant woman in a crash while fleeing from police, was sentenced to 40 years in prison.

During the sentencing, the judge told Mosley, “There’s no question you bear responsibility for those deaths. Even if you didn’t intend to take lives that day, it was the natural result of your actions.”

Mosley crashed into Erin Mogensen’s car at 100th Street and Capitol Drive last November after running a red light while speeding away from Wauwatosa police. The crash killed both Erin and her unborn child.

The judge sentenced Mosley to two consecutive 20-year terms for the deaths.

At the hearing, Erin’s husband, Alex Mogensen, addressed the court, saying, “I know nothing will bring Erin or my child back, but maybe this can help prevent others from being hurt by this person’s careless actions.”

Mosley also spoke, offering his condolences to Erin’s family. “What happened on Nov. 2 wasn’t meant to happen,” he said. “I made a mistake — one that could cost me my life.”

In addition to the prison sentence, the judge imposed nine years of extended supervision and ordered Mosley to pay over $12,000 in restitution.
