The Ellis County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death of an infant found by sanitation workers on Thursday afternoon.
At approximately 1:45 p.m., the Sheriff’s Office dispatch center received a call from sanitation employees who reported discovering a deceased baby during their garbage route.

Deputies arrived at the scene, located in a gated community on Saint Andrews Drive, off Glen Eagles Drive, where they confirmed the infant’s death.
