The family of Emma Baum, a 25-year-old woman who was nine months pregnant when she disappeared over a month ago, is urgently asking for the public’s help in finding her.
Baum was last seen on October 10 at her boyfriend’s home near 25th Avenue and Connecticut Street, about two miles south of downtown Gary, Indiana, according to her family and the Gary Police Department.
She is described as 5 feet 3 inches tall, weighing 136 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. Her family has shared a flyer with her photo online, noting that she has several tattoos and scars on her arms.
“She is due to have her baby,” Baum’s sister, Hailey Baum, wrote on the flyer shared on Facebook. “Please, anyone with information…”
Hailey has been tirelessly searching for her sister, who is also a mother of three other children. “I’ve stopped people on the street, talked to anyone I can. We’re even checking abandoned houses,” she told CBS News.
Baum’s mother, Jamie Baum, also emphasized that she will never stop looking. “We’re always going to look for her. I’m never going to stop looking for her,” she said.
Abby Smith, Baum’s other sister, described her as a bright and energetic person. “My sister is beautiful. She reaches for the sky just like a sunflower, which is her favorite,” Smith told NBC5 in Chicago.
Baum’s boyfriend, who is also the father of her unborn child, was recently arrested on an unrelated warrant for failure to appear in court, according to reports.
