Ree Drummond made an early start on Saturday, waking up at 4:00 a.m. to drive to Dallas for her daughter Alex’s baby shower. The event was organized by Alex’s college friends along with her sister, Paige. With a large iced coffee in hand and an audiobook to keep her company, Ree’s five-hour drive south was smooth. She even managed to apply several layers of mascara during the trip. Arriving on time felt like a small miracle, and the shower turned out to be a lovely, heartwarming celebration filled with love, laughter, and plenty of pink decorations. The event ended on a sweet note with a surprise visit from Alex’s husband Mauricio and their dog George.
The baby shower was hosted at a friend’s parents’ house in Dallas. It featured delicious finger foods, a mimosa bar, petit fours, and plenty of Dr Pepper. Guests enjoyed the food and spent time catching up, including Ree, who was happy to see Mauricio’s mother, Martha. Afterward, everyone gathered to watch Alex open her gifts, with plenty of “oohs” and “aahs” as the presents were revealed. They took lots of photos to capture the occasion. While it was a typical baby shower in many ways, the details were beautiful, thanks to Paige and Alex’s friends, and for Ree, it held special significance because her daughter was the mom-to-be.
Ree admitted to getting emotional a few times during the event, eating her share of finger sandwiches, and enjoying the surprise drop-in from George and Mauricio. She hinted that she might be making more trips to Dallas in the future as the baby’s arrival approaches.
