Two months after announcing their pregnancy, former Fahrenheit member Calvin Chen and actress Joanne Tseng celebrated with a gender reveal party.
On October 17, Joanne shared highlights from the garden-themed event on her Instagram. The video was dedicated to their soon-to-arrive baby.
In a voiceover, Joanne, 35, reflected on her initial hesitations about the party. “I wanted to create a special memory, but I was unsure about having a gender reveal. There are many expectations and labels for boys and girls. You are unique, just as you are,” she said.
Ultimately, the excitement of popping balloons encouraged them to proceed with the celebration, which Joanne described as “indeed very fun.”
The couple opted for non-traditional colors for the event. Green, Joanne’s favorite, represented a girl, while white, Calvin’s favorite, represented a boy.
When Calvin, 43, popped the gold balloon, smaller white balloons and gold confetti fell, revealing they are expecting a baby boy.
In the video, Joanne concluded with heartfelt words for their child: “No matter what you experience in life, remember that many people love you. Their blessings will be like sunlight and rain, always shining and nourishing you.”
Fans and friends flooded the comments section with well-wishes for the couple, who married in 2020. Local actor Desmond Tan expressed his support, writing, “So much warmth! Wishing good health for the whole family!”
Calvin also shared the reel and one of Joanne’s Instagram Stories on his account, thanking everyone for their kind messages.
