The Boys Star Shares ‘Uncomfortable’ Experience Homelander Breastfeeding

by Jessica

Fans of The Boys know the show is filled with strange and sometimes shocking moments. Recently, Valorie Curry, who plays Firecracker, opened up about one of the most uncomfortable scenes she filmed.

In The Boys, viewers are used to superheroes involved in bizarre and scandalous situations. The show is far from the family-friendly vibes of Marvel and DC. One particular scene from the latest season has sparked a lot of discussion: the moment when Firecracker breastfeeds the adult superhero Homelander, played by Antony Starr.

At the 2024 Comic-Con in Northern Ireland, Curry and her co-star Laz Alonso, who portrays Mother’s Milk, answered questions from fans. When asked about her most uncomfortable filming moment, Curry immediately mentioned the breastfeeding scene. However, her discomfort came from an unexpected source.

Curry explained, “Here’s a secret about the infamous scene between Firecracker and Homelander in episode 6. When he was on my lap, those eagles were digging into my leg. I had little eagles on my thighs for like two hours indented. That was physically uncomfortable, but otherwise great.”

Despite the odd and sometimes gross nature of the show, Curry emphasized how much she enjoys working with her cast and crew. She stated, “Everyone is very professional. We do very extreme things in terms of the content of the show. But everyone treats it with such seriousness and professionalism that it always feels very comfortable, and I always feel supported as an actor in terms of performance.”

Alonso chimed in, recalling his own uncomfortable moment from season 3 during the episode titled “Herogasm.” He jokingly referenced the famous line from Forrest Gump, saying, “That is all I have to say about that. If you know, you know.”

Curry also shared her positive experience at the Northern Ireland Comic-Con but took a moment to address boundaries with fans. In a video posted to her Instagram, she praised the majority of fans who respected her and did not make her feel uncomfortable.

She said, “By and large, everyone was fantastic. I’ve only just started doing these conventions on my own, and for the most part, everyone has been lovely, so kind, and so respectful. It’s been wonderful.”

However, she emphasized the importance of discussing appropriate behavior, saying, “We do need to talk about boundaries and what is appropriate in terms of behavior.” While Curry did not disclose specific details about an incident involving a fan, she made it clear that such behavior was unacceptable.
