The United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust emphasized that the loss of a pregnancy or baby remains a sensitive topic and expressed its commitment to supporting affected parents and families.

This walk is part of several activities during Baby Loss Awareness Week, which runs from October 9 to 15.

Specialist midwife Rachel Bond remarked, “Sadly, baby loss is common, yet it remains a taboo. People often don’t know what to say, leading them to say nothing for fear of causing more pain.”

She also noted, “This week may bring up difficult emotions, but it is also a chance for people to share their stories and realize they are not alone.”

In support of Baby Loss Awareness Week, hospitals in Lincoln, Boston, and Grantham, along with Lincoln Cathedral and other local landmarks, will be illuminated in pink.

Additionally, hospital chapels in these areas will feature trees of remembrance, where visitors can leave tags and light candles in memory of their lost loved ones.
