Emhoff Doesn’t Deny Claims of Slapping EX And Impregnating Nanny

by Jessica

Doug Emhoff, husband of Vice President Kamala Harris, has characterized recent allegations about his personal life as a “distraction,” but he has not explicitly denied them. Reports from DailyMail.com surfaced in August, claiming Emhoff cheated on his first wife, Kerstin, and fathered a child with the family’s nanny.

Earlier this month, new allegations emerged that Emhoff slapped an ex-girlfriend at the Cannes Film Festival in 2012. He also faced claims of misogyny from colleagues at his former Los Angeles law firm. During an interview on MSNBC’s Morning Joe with host Joe Scarborough, Emhoff was asked whether the allegations upset him.

Scarborough reframed the allegations as “tabloid” stories pushed by Donald Trump and other Republican critics, choosing not to delve into the specifics. Emhoff, however, opted to dismiss the claims, emphasizing his focus on his wife’s presidential campaign.

“We don’t have time to be upset,” Emhoff told Scarborough. “It’s all a distraction designed to get us off our game.” When Scarborough asked if the allegations affected his focus, Emhoff replied, “No. All we are doing – all we talk about – is this election.” He expressed concern about the implications of Trump selecting the next three Supreme Court justices, referencing the former president’s role in overturning Roe v. Wade.

Earlier this week, DailyMail.com reported on allegations from a discrimination lawsuit against the law office Emhoff once ran. The lawsuit accused him of hiring an “unqualified” part-time model as a legal secretary due to her youth and attractiveness.

In August, DailyMail.com reported that Emhoff’s first marriage ended when he got the family’s nanny, Najen Naylor, pregnant. Naylor, 47, confirmed she was aware of the story but declined to comment further, saying, “I’m kind of freaked out right now.”

In response to the allegations surrounding the nanny, Emhoff acknowledged difficulties in his first marriage but did not provide specifics. “During my first marriage, Kerstin and I went through some tough times due to my actions,” he stated. “I took responsibility, and since then, we have worked through things as a family and come out stronger.”

At the beginning of October, DailyMail.com uncovered allegations that Emhoff had struck a woman in France 11 years ago. This unnamed woman, who dated Emhoff for three months, reportedly informed her friends about the incident during a late-night conversation. Emhoff’s spokesperson has denied the assault allegations, calling them “untrue.”

Scarborough prompted Emhoff by mentioning that Trump was amplifying these tabloid stories, suggesting they should be front and center. He noted Trump’s crude comments regarding Harris’s past relationship with former San Francisco Mayor Willie Brown. Scarborough asked Emhoff how he and Harris manage to remain calm and disciplined amid such intense scrutiny.

Emhoff’s focus on the upcoming election remains steadfast, despite the controversies surrounding his personal life.
