The Bringing Up Bates family has welcomed a new addition! Nathan Bates, 30, and his wife Esther, 25, celebrated the arrival of their second child, a son named Graham Alan Bates, on Friday, October 4. They shared the joyful news in an Instagram post on Sunday, October 6.
Baby Graham was born weighing 6 pounds, 15 ounces, and measuring 20½ inches long.
“Introducing Graham Alan Bates,” wrote a proud Esther under a series of photos featuring their newborn. One heartwarming image captures the couple gazing down at their baby boy, while another shows Esther kissing him gently on the forehead.
“Thank you, @tiffypics, for being here and capturing these special moments for us!” she added in her post.
Family members from the Bates clan quickly extended their congratulations in the comments. Carlin Bates expressed her joy, writing, “He is perfect.” Whitney Bates added, “He’s sooo perfect congratulations! Love you guys.” Josie Balka also chimed in, saying, “He’s precious!! Cannot wait to meet him.”
Nathan and Esther are already parents to a daughter, Kenna, who was born in October 2022.
In March, the couple announced they were expecting their second child. “We’re doubling the cuteness! Baby #2 coming Fall 2024!,” they shared alongside a series of photos taken by Nathan’s brother Lawson and his wife Tiffany. The images included Nathan and Esther posing with Kenna Joy and an ultrasound picture at the beach. In the photos, Kenna wore a matching pink gingham dress with her mother.
Nathan is the fifth child of Gil and Kelly Bates. The Bates family was featured on the TLC show Bringing Up Bates, which aired for eight seasons from 2015 to 2021.
Nathan and Esther tied the knot in October 2021 after announcing their engagement that same year. They shared the news of Esther’s first pregnancy on Instagram in May 2022, and welcomed their daughter later that fall.
