An influencer has responded to “misogynistic” online trolls who criticized Margot Robbie’s appearance during her pregnancy. Body-positive social media star Alex Light took to Instagram to highlight the “harmful” comments aimed at Margot, who is expecting her first child with husband Tom Ackerley.
In her video, Light read aloud a series of “ridiculous” comments from male users that cruelly rated Margot’s pregnant body. She condemned the harsh criticisms and called out the “impossible and unachievable societal expectations” placed on women.
Light expressed her disbelief that Margot, often regarded as “the most beautiful woman on the planet,” is targeted by such harsh comments. She stated, “I think we should let this serve as a reminder that no matter who we are or what we look like, our bodies and appearance will always be scrutinized. Let’s free ourselves from these unrealistic expectations that affect all of us. For the record, Margot Robbie looks great, and she should be allowed to enjoy her holiday without people dissecting her changing body.”
Many of Light’s 569,000 followers quickly joined in her outrage, using the comments section to denounce the “misogynistic” remarks and double standards.
Currently, Margot Robbie is eagerly awaiting the arrival of her first child with Tom Ackerley.
