Cardi B is expecting her third child. The US rapper confirmed her pregnancy on Instagram, just hours after news broke of her filing for divorce from Offset.
In her post debuting her baby bump, she wrote, “With every ending comes a new beginning! I am so grateful to have shared this season with you. You have brought me more love, more life, and most of all, renewed my power! You reminded me that I can have it all!”
She continued, “You’ve reminded me that I never have to choose between life, love, and my passion! I love you so much and can not wait for you to witness what you helped me accomplish, what you pushed me to do! It’s so much easier taking life’s twists, turns, and tests laying down, but you, your brother, and your sister have shown me why it’s worth it to push through!”
In the glamorous social media post, Cardi, 31, showed off her belly in a plunging red gown and matching coat.
Speculation about her pregnancy started in June when her stomach strained against a buttoned black blazer onstage at the Inspiration Awards. Two weeks later, she covered her belly in a pink sweatsuit while hosting an event.
Cardi and Offset already have daughter Kulture, 6, and son Wave, 2, born in July 2018 and September 2021, respectively.
Cardi has also been a “blessing” to Offset’s children from previous relationships. In an April 2022 interview with Essence, Offset said, “[She’s] open and treats them as if they’re her kids. It could be an issue, but I don’t have to go through that, and that’s beautiful.”
The couple married secretly in September 2017. A year later, Cardi announced they had “[grown] out of love.” They reconciled in 2019, but Cardi filed for divorce again in September 2020. They reunited the following month but ended things once more in 2023 after mutual accusations of cheating.
In December 2023, Cardi told her followers that she had been single “for a minute” and wanted to start 2024 “fresh [and] open.” She discussed their struggles with Rolling Stone in May, calling Offset her “best friend” despite rumors of cheating.
Page Six recently reported that Cardi filed for divorce on Wednesday, seeking full custody of Kulture and Wave.
