Identity of Mother of Dave Grohl’s New Baby ‘Revealed’ After Months of Secrecy

A woman has come forward claiming to be the mother of Dave Grohl’s new baby.

The Foo Fighters frontman shocked fans last year when he revealed that he had fathered a child outside his 21-year marriage to Jordyn Blum. In an Instagram post, the 55-year-old admitted to cheating on Blum and fathering a daughter.

“I plan to be a loving and supportive parent to her,” Grohl said in the post. “I love my wife and my children, and I am doing everything I can to regain their trust and earn their forgiveness.”

Now, a woman named Jennifer Young has come forward, claiming to be the mother of Grohl’s baby daughter. Young, a Florida native, told Page Six that her child was born on August 1, 2024, and that the baby carries Grohl’s surname on her birth certificate.

However, Young has chosen not to reveal her daughter’s name, citing concerns for the child’s privacy due to what she called “really angry fans.” “Protecting her identity is really important,” she said.

Young is reportedly living a quiet life in Los Angeles with her daughter. The pair are often seen taking walks around the neighborhood.

Young, a fan of music, has tattoos of Paul McCartney lyrics and the Metallica logo.

Grohl’s initial statement came a month after the birth of his alleged daughter with Young. In the post, he said, “We’re grateful for your consideration toward all the children involved, as we move forward together.”

Grohl has not shared further details about the child or her mother. In February, he was seen out with his wife for the first time since the announcement. The couple was photographed driving in a black BMW.

Grohl met his wife, Blum, 48, in 2001 at the Sunset Marquis Whiskey Bar. In a 2007 interview with Elle, he admitted that he had stopped calling her after a few early dates because he wasn’t ready for a serious relationship.

“When I first met my wife, we went out on a few dates and I decided that I wasn’t ready for a serious relationship, so I just stopped calling,” Grohl recalled. “After three months, I had a revelation and called her back. She picked up the phone and said, ‘Oh, I never thought I’d hear from you again.’”

They eventually married on August 2, 2003, at their Los Angeles home. The couple has three children: Violet Maye (born in 2006), Harper Willow (born in 2009), and Ophelia Saint (born in 2014).

Grohl has often spoken about his love for his family and his desire to spend time with them. He previously told Time in 2009, “I used to tour nine months out of the year. Now I don’t like being away from my kids for more than 12 days.”

“It’s changed everything that I do,” he added. “When you have kids, you see life through different eyes. You feel love more deeply and are maybe a little more compassionate. It’s inevitable that that would make its way into your songwriting.”

Although Grohl has said he plans to be a “loving and supportive parent” to his new daughter, he has not revealed details about his new parenting situation.
