Sanya Richards-Ross and Husband Expecting Baby No. 3

by Jessica

Sanya Richards-Ross and her husband, Aaron Ross, are expecting their third child. The couple, who appeared in a joint Instagram post on Sunday, February 23, shared the joyful news with their followers. Richards-Ross, 39, posted pictures of herself wearing a gold and black dress with a sheer opening that highlighted her growing baby bump. Aaron Ross, 42, stood beside her in an all-black suit with an ocelot stole draped over his shoulder.

The couple was celebrating Richards-Ross’s upcoming 40th birthday, dressed in outfits inspired by the movie Coming to America. In the photos, she smiles brightly while holding her belly. One photo shows her sitting on her husband’s lap, with him gently holding her belly. In another, she holds up three fingers, symbolizing the number of children they are expecting.

Richards-Ross shared her excitement on Instagram, writing, “40 + 1 I knew this birthday would be special, but this was A LOT more than I could have imagined.” She added, “On this birthday and my 15 YEAR ANNIVERSARY… @rossboy31 and I will be adding one more little prince or princess to our crew. ”

The couple already has two sons, Aaron, 7, and Asani, 14 months. Richards-Ross previously spoke with People in July 2024 about creating a nursery for Asani, designed by Vanessa Antonelli. She also redesigned Aaron’s room at the same time.

When asked about her favorite feature of Asani’s nursery, Richards-Ross explained, “It’s impossible to pick because it’s everything in the room that makes it so special. Asani is such a calm baby with bright beautiful eyes and already very curious eyes, so I wanted his room to be a reflection of him.” She added that she chose “interesting wallpaper” and “calm, subtle colors” to match his personality.

The reality TV star has been open about her previous struggles with pregnancy loss. In a 2023 episode of The Real Housewives of Atlanta, Richards-Ross shared a painful experience when she lost a pregnancy before having Asani. “Everything was fine at my five-week checkup, but when I went back to Dr. Jackie for my seven-week checkup, she told me the baby wasn’t growing and it looked like it was no longer a viable pregnancy,” she said in a confessional.

Richards-Ross recalled the traumatic miscarriage, explaining, “I was rushed off in an ambulance to the hospital. I lost so much blood that I had to get a blood transfusion. Especially not having Ross there, being by myself, it was really, really hard.”
