Cans of baby formula under the brand names Crecelac and Farmalac have been recalled due to non-compliance with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) infant formula regulations. The recall was initiated by Dairy Manufacturers Inc. in Texas after the FDA notified them that the new infant formula products were not registered with the FDA as required.
The FDA emphasized that these products have not undergone evaluation to determine if they meet U.S. food safety and nutritional standards. While no illnesses related to these products have been reported so far, the recall was issued as a precautionary measure.
The recalled products include Crecelac Infant 0-12, Farmalac 0-12, and Farmalac 0-12 low lactose, which are packaged in cans made of cardboard and aluminum.
These formulas were exclusively sold at retailers in Texas. Consumers who have purchased these products are advised to return them to the place of purchase for a full refund.
