A woman, Lily Somerton, was surprised to learn that she was six months pregnant despite not showing any visible signs of pregnancy. At 21 years old and a size eight, Lily was still having her period and didn’t notice any changes until she felt movement in her stomach, reminiscent of her previous pregnancy. Recognizing the sensation, she took a pregnancy test which confirmed her suspicions.
Following the positive test, Lily went for a scan and was shocked to discover that she was already 24 weeks pregnant. Doctors explained that she was experiencing a cryptic pregnancy, where a person remains unaware of their pregnancy. Despite not developing a visible bump, medical professionals assured her that her baby boy, due in July 2024, was healthy.
Lily, who works as a support worker in King’s Lynn, Norfolk, shared her astonishment at the situation, recalling the moment she saw her belly move and realizing the extent of her pregnancy. She was previously surprised by her first pregnancy, which resulted in her 19-month-old son.
After separating from her first child’s father in mid-2022, Lily met her current partner, Ashley Davis, 35, in April 2023. Despite going through challenging times, including the loss of her father to cancer in November 2023, Lily is looking forward to welcoming her second child and giving her son a baby brother. She mentioned that this pregnancy has been easier compared to her first, and she appreciates not having a large bump this time around.
