Boots Launches World’s First Self-Test Pregnancy Kit Using Saliva

by Jessica

Boots, a leading UK health and beauty retailer, has launched the world’s first saliva-based pregnancy self-test under its own brand. This innovative product, developed in collaboration with Abingdon Health, Salignostics, and Crest Medical, will be available in Boots stores and online across the UK.

The saliva pregnancy test represents a major advancement in accessible and convenient pregnancy testing. Unlike traditional urine-based tests, this new test uses saliva samples, offering a non-invasive and user-friendly alternative. This development follows the successful release of Boots-branded self-tests for Iron and Vitamin D deficiency earlier this year.

The Boots Saliva Pregnancy Test provides a simple and accurate way to detect pregnancy just one day after a missed period. It works by detecting the hormone human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) in saliva. Users can perform the test at any time of the day by collecting saliva with the provided handle. A color change to blue indicates a valid test, and results are available within 5 to 15 minutes, offering quick and reliable feedback.
