An abandoned infant, estimated to be around nine to ten months old, was rescued by Khushboo Patani, the sister of Bollywood actress Disha Patani, on Sunday morning. The rescue took place in a rundown building near Disha’s residence in Bareilly, where Khushboo lives with her father, retired police officer Jagdish Patani.
According to the police, Khushboo Patani was out for a morning walk when she heard the cries of a baby coming from the abandoned building. As the building had no direct access, she bravely climbed over a wall to reach the child. Inside, she found the infant lying on the ground, crying, with visible injuries on the face.
Khushboo quickly took the baby back to her home and administered first aid. She and her family then alerted the authorities. The infant was later taken to the district hospital for further treatment, where medical care is ongoing.
Circle Officer (City-I) Pankaj Srivastava stated that the police are reviewing CCTV footage from the area to identify the person responsible for abandoning the child. “Efforts are underway to find those who left the baby in such a condition,” Srivastava added. Khushboo’s heroic act is being widely praised in the city for her quick thinking and bravery.
