Pregnant Love Island Australia star Anna McEvoy has opened up about a recent health scare that led to a hospital visit.
The 32-year-old reality star and podcaster was rushed to Cairns Hospital for monitoring after noticing a lack of movement from her baby during her babymoon with husband Michael Staples.
Anna shared the experience with her followers on Instagram on Tuesday. While lying in a hospital bed, she explained, “Our little guy stopped moving for the past 48 hours. The midwife advised us to go to Cairns Hospital for some monitoring.” After an hour of checks, doctors reassured them, saying everything looked good. “When we left, they said, ‘I think you have a cheeky boy,’” she added.
She also mentioned that shortly after returning to Palm Cove, her baby began kicking again, writing, “Ironically, he started kicking and partying when we got back. Officially in the third trimester!!”
Anna’s fans and friends quickly flooded the comments with supportive messages. One person wrote, “This happened to me twice in my first pregnancy—better to be safe than sorry!” Another follower said, “Definitely get checked if you ever feel like his movements aren’t normal! You’re almost there now.”
In November, Anna shared the joyful news of her pregnancy with a sweet video montage, showing footage of herself and Michael as children, before transitioning to clips of them as adults. In the video, Anna beams, saying, “The baby is 10 weeks old and 3 centimeters tall.” The couple is then seen enjoying a romantic walk along the beach, with Anna proudly showing off her baby bump in a white crop top.
Last year, Anna and Michael tied the knot in a stunning ceremony in Corfu, Greece, at the luxurious Courti Estate. The villa, which boasts nine bedrooms, served as the perfect setting for their dream European wedding.
Reflecting on the day, Anna told the Herald Sun, “Our wedding day at The Courti Estate was magical. It was the idyllic European wedding of our dreams, even better than we could have imagined. Michael and I couldn’t be happier.”
She added, “We are so overwhelmed with love from our amazing family and friends, who traveled all the way to Greece to support us.”
