GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — In 2024, Corewell Health reported that approximately 8,000 babies were born at Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids.
For these newborns, the hospital tracked the most popular names, separating them by gender. The top name for girls was Charlotte, while the top name for boys was Oliver.
The popularity of Oliver mirrored a trend seen in 2023 at Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo, where Oliver was also the most common name for boys. Charlotte ranked third on Bronson’s list, and several other names that remained popular in 2024 were also found on that list.
