SPRINGFIELD TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WOIO) – A father and his girlfriend were arrested after officers discovered an infant unresponsive at a local motel.
According to Springfield Township police, officers responded to a call at the Red Roof Inn around 9:30 p.m. on Friday, where they found a 1-year-old girl lying on a bed and not breathing.
Officers immediately performed CPR, successfully reviving the baby, who regained her pulse and began breathing again.
The infant showed signs of “severe trauma,” including significant bruising, police said. She was in critical condition and was rushed to the hospital for treatment.
The baby’s father, 37-year-old Jason Santos, was arrested and faces charges of felonious assault, child endangerment, and obstructing justice.
His girlfriend, 36-year-old Jamilee Hunt, was also arrested on charges of child endangerment and obstructing justice.
Both suspects are from New York.
