Idaho Teacher Investigated for Wishing Trump Supporter ‘Unwanted Pregnancy’

by Jessica

An Idaho high school teacher is under investigation after making controversial comments on Facebook following President-elect Donald Trump’s victory. Lori Lombard, a teacher at Century High School in Pocatello, is facing scrutiny for allegedly wishing an “unwanted pregnancy” on a Trump supporter.

Screenshots of the post, which were shared with Fox News Digital, show Lombard making disparaging remarks about an individual’s appearance, calling them “pathetic looking” and suggesting they “cover your profile picture.” In one comment, Lombard is alleged to have written, “Seriously… cover your profile picture. You are pathetic looking and are opening yourself to ridicule. Everyone will know you can’t get a woman and don’t have children unless you forced yourself on some poor woman.”

As the conversation continued, Lombard allegedly directed further insults at another person in the comments section. “I hope your mistress or daughter has an unwanted pregnancy… wait, I looked at your picture, you don’t have a mistress… And probably never got anyone to have a daughter by you unless it was by force,” she reportedly wrote.

The remarks came in response to Trump’s election win in Idaho, where Lombard also posted critical comments about the state’s voter attitudes. She was quoted as saying, “This just shows that Idahoans don’t pay attention to real data and what a terrible job he did… We should do away with criminal background checks in this state as most citizens don’t care if someone lied, stole, and defrauded banks and taxpayers out of millions. Any felon deserves a job.”

The Pocatello/Chubbuck School District 25, which oversees Century High School, issued a statement acknowledging the concerns raised by the posts. The district said it takes such matters seriously and is investigating. While the district emphasized that personal opinions shared by employees off the clock are protected, it also stated, “We expect respectful dialogue and will address concerns constructively. Ensuring everyone’s safety and well-being is our top priority. Any threats or harassment will be referred to the proper authorities.”

Karlie Cordell, one of the individuals allegedly targeted by Lombard’s comments, shared the screenshots and a video of the exchange. “I know during these times people can get a little passionate about their political stance. What I found astonishing was Century High School teacher Lori Lombard wishing unwanted pregnancies and pregnancy complications on those who are voting differently than her,” Cordell wrote in a statement.

As a mother who struggled with infertility, Cordell expressed her shock at the comments. “I am appalled at the fact that that same child could potentially have her as a teacher,” she said. “This woman helps pave the way for our future minds, and this is how she behaves. Imagine what she might be saying to those kids behind closed doors.”

Lombard’s posts have since been removed from social media.

Lombard teaches career and technical education at Century High School, according to the school’s website. Fox News Digital reached out to Lombard for comment but did not receive a response.

The investigation into her comments continues.
